Baby’s first holiday? Fret not. We’ve picked out the best baby-friendly hotels in the country, where cosseting facilities for tiny tots are just as important as Egyptian cotton sheets and spa treatments for new parents.

Fowey Hall, Cornwall
@foweyhall

Fittingly, this Victorian seaside mansion was the inspiration for Wind in the Willows’ Toad Hall. Someone will be in touch pre-trip to discuss any equipment you may need and, once there, it’s an all-encompassing suite of facilities, including an Ofsted-approved crèche, baby listening services and a chef who prepares fresh puréed food. You get two hours of free childcare per day, so parents can head straight for the sea-facing hot tub.

Brown’s Hotel, London
@browns_hotel

Little darlings of Brown’s Hotel receive A-list treatment, including a ‘monkey teddy turndown service’ on freshly made linens, and the option to add a snazzy hanging mobile, plus night lights and changing mats are available on request too. Parents will appreciate the complimentary baby meals, 24-hour babysitting and amenities (including baby bath products). A children’s concierge can also recommend the best tot-friendly spots in the capital.

Calcot Manor, Cotswolds
@calcot_manor

Frette linens and alfresco hot tubs for mum and dad; nursery-style rooms, organic food and a baby pool for little ones – this 220-acre retreat caters to bubbas without compromising on adult luxuries. A baby package, includes bottle warmers, changing mats and rubber ducks in the bath on arrival, while an Ofsted-accredited nursery and soft play area is on hand if you wish to use the spa (treatments span massages to microdermabrasion facials).

Hotel Endsleigh, Devon
@hotelendleigh

Hotel Endsleigh, in Devon’s bucolic Tamar Valley, combines elegant countrified style with fresh air, walks and picnics (be sure to bring a baby carrier to be able to profit). The hotel will supply monitors, cots and bottle warmers. Babysitting can also be arranged, should you want to dine on fresh Devonshire produce in the restaurant.

Chewton Glen, Hampshire
@chewtonglen

An all-purpose country house hotel, which offers guests treehouse suites, a nine-hole golf course and an award-winning spa with Europe’s largest hydrotherapy pool. Families with babies are well looked-after: equipment from stair gates to baby towels, are available, while babysitting and qualified nannies can be arranged, should parents want to tee-off or zone out.
