Life is definitely hectic with a baby (or two), and as a fashion blogger one of the things I get asked about on a regular basis is how I have time to get ready with two under two. It’s not always easy, but I have always loved fashion, and getting myself together each day makes me feel good and gives me a boost, so for me it’s important.

Here are five simple steps I follow which have helped me get successfully dressed and ready while juggling two little ones at the same time:

Plan, Plan, Plan!

I always plan my outfits the night before. I check the weather forecast and plan my outfit for the next day, so that then it literally takes me 5 minutes to get changed. I am definitely not good at picking out what to wear when I feel under pressure, so planning makes the world of difference to me.  When the kids are asleep, I raid my wardrobe!

Try Not to Stress

I genuinely believe that babies and children pick up on vibes and if you stay calm then your children will too (most of the time!). But it certainly doesn’t help you or them to be anxious – you just end up feeling frazzled.

Figure Out a Make-Up Routine That Works For You

I have mine down to around 5 minutes now.

I often let Mila play around in my dressing room or in the bathroom and that keeps her entertained for a little while. Anoushka can sit in a bouncy chair with a few toys and she is happy. And white noise always helps with babies – I run the tap for a little while or put some music on my phone and Anoushka instantly settles.

Accessorize!

I often have my hair tied up in a messy bun and my make-up is done in a rush, but I always feel like statement accessories, such as the big earrings that I live in (most of mine are clip-ons), add so much to a look. Even if you are wearing a pair of jeans and a plain knit, if you add some earrings, sunglasses and a pair of amazing shoes into the mix, you instantly look more put together.

Lastly and Most Importantly Don’t Be Too Hard On Yourself.

I dress up because I enjoy it, but I also have the occasional day I prefer to stay in sweatpants – and that’s ok!
