At-home delivery services. They’re a thing. Whether that’s Deliveroo or Domino’s, a mani or a massage, we are so used to having things delivered to our door to make our lives that little bit easier (yes, we’re looking at you Amazon Prime).

So why should the same not apply to meals for your little one? Because if there is one thing that requires a whole new step change when your baby arrives, it’s that, once weaned, it’s a whole new ball game when it comes to meal-planning. Having to take into consideration nourishing the growth of a small little human, as well as yourself (and the rest of your family, however many that might entail), there are a number of services designed to take the guesswork – and legwork – out of food prep for your babes. The bonus being, they’re nutritionally sound and have the best for your baby at the heart of everything they do. Here, some tried and tested services, which for the moment are London-based, but watch this space for nationwide companies that will be sure to follow suit.

BELLOTA BABY

With the tagline “super food for tiny people”, Bellota Baby have nailed the concept. Fresh, organic, dairy and gluten free food for babies and toddlers, they are nutrient dense, whole food purees and meals that are made fresh for your order. They come in quaint glass bottles that can be reused and none of the foods have been pasteurised or heat treated, meaning that they won’t have a sell by date for two years time like some other baby brands, but rather it’s all fresh and to be consumed within 5 days. Highlights include the White Bean, Pea and Mint Puree and the Quinoa Puff Bliss Balls.

FEED ME 2

A food service for both mamas and bubbas, this is an at home delivery service that tailors its meals to whatever stage of parenthood you are at: pregnant, breastfeeding, baby or toddler. The delicious meals – that would be at home in a delicious fancy restaurant – arrive in PDP-free pouches for you to warm up and make at home. Try the Mushroom Risotto, Gluten Free Mac ‘n’ Cheese or Roasted Tomato Soup for wholesome meals to keep you and your family nourished. Their website also has a handy ingredient glossary that can tell you all the benefits of any given food at the various stages of pregnancy and motherhood.

RATATOUIE

Founded by French chef Helene Piquion, all of her meals for babies and toddlers are organic as well as seasonally and locally sourced, delivered straight to your door in glass jars (like Bellota Baby), that can be reused, or, even better, returned for a small bit of money back. Convenient, yummy and packed full of fresh veg, fish and meat, buy in bulk and store some in the freezer for emergency situations when a hungry baby isn’t worth keeping waiting!
