There’s nothing that puts more of a dampener on a weekend away than realising you haven’t brought enough nappies with you (and the nearest place to re-stock is half an hour away), or that the one thing your baby needs to sleep has been left behind. So we have compiled our ultimate checklist of things – outside of clothes – that will help you and the babe reach peak R&R status:

  • Toiletries & baby sponge
  • Milton Sterilising Tablets (if still bottle feeding)
  • Fairy liquid – decanted into a little bottle to clean any cutlery, plates or bottles in the room
  • Dylon Travel Hand Wash Detergent – to immediately treat any unwanted stains
  • Wipes – bring more than you think you need
  • Disposable changing mats
  • Full pack of nappies – you can vacuum pack them if you need to save on space
  • Swim nappies – if you know the hotel spa allows for baby swim-time
  • Monitor – not all hotels have monitors or ones that are up to scratch
  • Comforters – whether that’s dummies, blankets or cuddly toys, don’t leave home without and bring spare in case some get lost or dirty
  • Sleeping Bag – if your baby is used to sleeping in a grow bag, bring one with you so you know they’re comfortable
  • Duct tape – to tape curtains to the window ledge or wall to fully block out light
  • Food favourites – snacks, breakfast cereal, treats
  • Calpol/ Nurofen/ Teething remedies
  • Disposable bibs
